Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is a government initiative aimed at targeting extra money at pupils from deprived backgrounds to drive up standards. Research shows that pupils from deprived backgrounds underachieve compared to their non-deprived peers. The premium is provided to enable these pupils to be supported to reach their potential.

Approx 35% of the children at the Church Cowley St James School are entitled to the PPG.
We work very hard with the children, their parents and carers to ensure that this government grant goes to the people who need it most. We use data and educational research from organisations like Sutton Trust and The Education Endowment Fund (EEF) to ensure that we are making the most, for all children, of the PPG that is given to the school.
We are pleased that we track so carefully where the money goes, to who and for what, and that we are so transparent and complete in our reporting so parents and the school community.
The PPG has enabled us to look carefully at the whole school's offer for all children and, in turn, has benefitted every child in one way or another.
It is, therefore, hugely important that if you think you may be entitled to claim the PPG for your child, you complete the forms available in reception.
