Free early education for 3 and 4 year olds

All 3 & 4 year old children are entitled to 570 hours of free early education. This is called Universal. In real terms this is 15 hours per week during 38 term-time weeks. We expect that children entitled to this should take up their full entitlement.

Working parents may also be eligible for an additional 570 hours. This is called Extended or 30 hours. In real terms this is 30 hours per week over 38 term-time weeks.

At Wilderness Nursery we offer term-time nursery education You may also choose to purchase additional sessions to cover your working hours subject to availability.

When is my child eligible?

From the term following their third birthday:

1 April - 31 August	September
1 September - 31 December	January
1 January - 31 March	April
