Dance

At Church Cowley St James, we have our dance studio where each child will have the equivalent of 3 terms of street dance lessons over the year. There is plenty of opportunity to showcase performances in either small groups or as a whole class throughout the year. Our Dance teacher Jenai leads dance classes from Step 2 Dance, a professional dance school specialising in street dance. In our classes children learn to express themselves creatively, working together to create showpieces and trying something new.

Miss Belward runs a dance club at CCSJ in preparation for performances and competitions. In December 2021, the dance group performed at the Oxfordshire Schools' Dance Festival at the New Theatre in Oxford City Centre. 

CCSJ won the Oxfordshire Dance festival in 2022 and were finalist in the National Schools Dance competition in Cheltenham in the same year.

This year we will be returning to both the festival and the competition with two dance troops, one in KS1 and one in KS2.
