Creativity

We nourish imaginations and nurture creative expression.

At CCSJ, creativity means more than just the arts, but it’s still an essential part. For us, it is a way of thinking and an approach to life.

Our pupils learn to develop adaptable, flexible critical thinking and express their thoughts, feelings and ideas.

Whether that’s crafting a painting in art lessons, explaining a complicated scientific process during science work, resolving a conflict or constructing an argument through our Social Justice threads in topic work – we actively develop children’s ability to confidently express themselves in a variety of ways and in an environment where they are encouraged to be themselves, take risks, fail and try again.

This is probably best seen on a daily basis in our Dance studio; all children have three terms per year of Street Dance, our brilliant Forest School, and during our Computing lessons, where children are encouraged to be creators of technology and not just idle consumers.
